Early in his career, Michael became renowned for his work in the bodybuilding industry. His creative approach to photographing the human form was groundbreaking. His talent paved the way for him to photograph some of the most famous bodybuilders in the world, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, and Ronnie Coleman, among many others. As a key player during the Golden Age of Bodybuilding, Michael worked for Joe Weider early on in his career. He shot the first ever Flex Magazine cover and worked for the biggest magazines in the industry at the time, which included Muscle & Fitness. Stemming off of these unique experiences, his success in the bodybuilding industry led him to become co-owner of Iron Man Magazine from 1987 to 2015. After his first foray into publishing, Michael merged his love of photography and interest in extreme sports to create a successful paintball magazine, SPLAT, which ran from 2003 to 2008.

Michael’s approach to photography is defined by his unique versatility. Throughout his career, he has worked with clients in virtually every industry, including product, commercial, editorial, portraits, fitness, sports, fashion, and architecture. This includes brands such as Lexus, Makita, Fender, and Dreamgirl. His compelling work in portraiture and editorial photography has also garnered significant recognition. He has photographed celebrities ranging from Sylvester Stallone to Hans Zimmer to Chuck Norris, along with professional athletes such as Holly Holm and Florence Griffith Joyner.

Whether he is in a helicopter producing a landscape shot, on the field with an athlete, in the studio staging a product, or on location with a model, Michael always strives to deliver extraordinary images.
